About Us
We are Adam & Chris, and we have a single goal in making and maintaining this website/database: To help prospective graduate students make more informed decisions about where to apply for grad school. This project started as a tool that Chris wanted when he was originally applying to graduate programs and became increasingly frustrated with the amount of time and effort it was taking to find a program that was a good fit for his research goals. With this in mind, he began compiling a document that included every researcher (over 2200), as of Q1 2025, that was affiliated with a clinical psychology PhD. program and created a spreadsheet that categorized them by research interest. Rather than simply upload the spreadsheet to a Google Drive and share it with people, Chris figured it would be more effective if the database could exist in the form of a website that prospective PhD applicants could easily search and filter for their desired research areas. This is where Adam and his expertise in coding turned a simple 2500-row spreadsheet into the interactive and intuitive website that you are using now.
Chris received his M.A. in Psychology from Teachers College, Columbia University in 2024 and intends to (using the data from this website) pursue a PhD in Clinical Psychology, with research interests focused on Men's Issues, an area that, through compiling this database, was revealed to have very few researchers actively pursuing it. He hopes to add to this small but growing area of research and to hopefully improve outcomes in areas where men tend to suffer the most, such as in suicidality and substance abuse.
